As an educator for the past 21 years, I enjoy working with and sharing my knowledge of different subjects with students who are curious or inspired to learn something new. 

 

It is wonderful to witness a student who has never picked up a camera or created a logo or even drawn or painted become excited and driven to learn more... to become better and maybe even make a living out of something they never thought they were interested in. This is what motivates me to teach.

 

I have spent years trying to create curriculums that will inspire students. 

 

Since there are so many directions for both photography and design to move, I keep my lessons simple and understandable. By using a blended learning method I'm able to give students some freedom to explore on their own without having to sit through lecture after lecture. I give directions with basic points of study for assignments, but encourage students to expand their curiosities by researching and discovering new ways to accomplish projects.  

 

This opens up many more opportunities for me to work with individuals who need more instruction or guidance. It has been quite liberating for the students in my class as well as for myself.
